Pink Floyd - Get Your Filthy Hands off My Desert (The final cut)
The memories of a man in his old age
Are the deeds of a man in his prime.
You shuffle in gloom of the sickroom
And talk to yourself as you die.
Life is a short, warm moment
And death is a long cold rest.
You get your chance to try in the twinkling of an eye:
Eighty years, with luck, or even less.
So all aboard for the American tour,
And maybe you'll make it to the top.
And mind how you go, and I can tell you, 'cause I know
You may find it hard to get off.
You are the angel of death
And I am the dead man's son.
And he was buried like a mole in a fox hole.
And everyone is still in the run.
And who is the master of fox hounds?
And who says the hunt has begun?
And who calls the tune in the courtroom?
And who beats the funeral drum?
The memories of a man in his old age
Are the deeds of a man in his prime.
You shuffle in gloom in the sickroom
And talk to yourself till you die.

| That's why I wanna incorporate the same thing into a game I wish to make (sorry for possible spammin on this subject), except they come in pairs only, are purple, and bear robotic antennae on top. They're programmed to smash any target in their way, and the scene of this shows a situation where after the player escapes a prison cell and reaches the jail's roof, the robots come after him, and must be avoided while trying to reach your transport before being crushed. |

| I think the hammer is used in here as a symbol of rebellion against a system.
It is used for breaking the wall, the wall which represents something big that you're just one more of, like society, "you're just another brick in the wall", as if you were not important to the construction, but they show you that if you break that wall you are free from this type of oppression, and you can make a difference! |

| For me hammers here are symbols of new tools that are created and then they are continuing building anothers walls. Kind of a sick circle that we see around us, isn't it? Totalitarism, capitalism, whatever... voice against flock conformity methink |

| on a serious note though the hammers may symbolize a lot of things. As you can see there are many who have their own interpretations and i wouldn't be so bold as to disrepute any of them. that's the beauty of liberal arts, you can analyse anything anyways you want lol. But for me seeing that the rock opera which is this album is about pink hallucinating that he's a fascist dictator, I'd say it has some reference to a totalitarianism system where people are forced to be productive. |
